This is a fantastic opportunity for someone self-motivated, good with people and highly practical, and with experience in theatre production, to play a key role as part of RADA’s technical teaching and production team. As such, RADA’s Production Manager plays a major part in helping define the ethos of technical theatre training in the UK and supports the creation of the next generation of practitioners of excellence.

The production manager works closely with the Director of Technical Training, and is responsible for all the technical and pedagogical requirements within the broad area of production management. You will be responsible for the creation and provision of production management to all RADA productions and performances, as well as being responsible for the running of the budget and therefore the provision and maintenance of all relevant RADA technical systems. You will line manage the Academy’s technical manager (as your deputy) and a technician, the latter shared across the sound department.

This role requires a proactive, agile working style and someone who is able to work effectively autonomously and collaboratively. The successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of theatre production process, including all aspects of health and safety as well as broad theatre production experience at rep level and above. Experience of budgeting small to mid-scale productions is also essential.

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is dedicated to Equal Opportunities in employment and seeks to achieve diversity amongst its staff to reflect the community it serves. We especially welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds and those who describe themselves as disabled as these groups are under-represented at the Academy.
