Senior Writer: We Are Social

We’re looking for an incredible Senior Writer for a global brand. You’ll need to know entertainment and how to entertain. From making short, funny content based on audience insights, to award-winning campaigns for new movies and TV shows.

Our editorial team is a crucial part of the agency’s success; we bring together writers and editors from web, broadcast, print and social, across a range of genres. We help brands to tell compelling stories through consistently well-crafted content people actually want. As a Senior Writer you’ll raise the bar of editorial output for key clients in the We Are Social portfolio by writing consistently excellent copy. Identify strategically supported opportunities to keep our content ahead of the competition.

You’ll be restlessly enthusiastic. The kind of person who can turn around small ideas almost instantly and has the charisma to sell in big ideas. You need to be comfortable in front of clients and talent. You’ll be adept at juggling multiple projects and an active inbox, consistently hitting deadlines. You won’t be afraid of a loose project brief.

This is a role for a skilled writer and content creator. Your background could be in television, publishing, or social. We need someone who can spot a good angle a mile off and is on top of the social landscape. You’ll also be able to see the bigger picture – how an idea can transcend social platforms and work on other media and in the real world.

Skills wise you’ll need to be able to sell in great ideas. You’ll know how to script short films and give art direction. You’ll know that no word is wasted. You’ll be able to chat to a young audience without sounding like an embarrassing parent and vary your tone according to what you’re talking about. You’ll know how to turn seemingly innocuous community management opportunities into defining moments for the brand, whether you’re writing witty comebacks or shaping content around fan insights. You’ll also know how to ensure your content gets seen and shared.

This is a role where you’ll be constantly creating. It will give you the opportunity to create career-defining work, so you’d better be good.
