Studio Production Manager, Angela De La Cruz

Angela de la Cruz is looking for a Studio Production Manager. The Production Manager will need the skills and experience to manage a studio of assistants, have high technical skills and knowledge of painting, sculpture as well as gallery installs, artwork transportation and knowledge of contemporary art and galleries is essential. Ideally, the candidate has to be a London based artist –fine art- has worked before in a London art gallery, art institution or artist’s studio. This role suits somebody who strives to manage an international artist’s production and also within their network in the art world. The successful candidate will be a team player, take initiative independently and work closely with the artist.

Requirements:
• Minimum qualification of a relevant MA ideally in Fine Art field (no current students please)
• Knowledge and experience of making sculpture and painting
• Experience of using and experimenting with new materials
• Ability to manage a small team of experienced studio assistants
• Able to travel for international exhibitions
• Reliable, punctual and well presented.
• Ability to work to exceptional standards
• Knowledge and experience of the international and national contemporary art scene (London scene included) • Knowledge of artwork crating, shipping, condition reports
• Excellent level of spoken and written English
• High level of computer literacy on Mac (Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite)

Responsibilities:
Managing production of artwork
Liaising with the Studio Manager
Making sure artwork is created accordingly to deadlines
Working with a disabled artist
Acting as representative of Angela de la Cruz at events, art fairs etc.
Manage and document packing and shipping
Managing a team of 6 people, ensuring good communication in the studio

Terms:
Hourly rate, on a Contractor basis (for this the successful applicant will need to declare themselves Self Employed, and manage their own tax payments to HMRC).
• 6 hours a day.
• 4-5 days a week.
• Minimum placement of 1 year, notice period of 2 months.
