Workshop de Teatro do Improviso com Stephen Thornton

Workshop Description:
People often ask me what’s the difference between Improvisational Theatre and Improv (Comedy)? I’ve always loved how one of my improv teachers, Scotty Watson, explains the difference, he says, “Improvisational Theatre and Improv are not the same thing. Though they are similar there are a couple of key differences:

1) Improv is writing on your feet; Improvisational Theatre is simply acting without a script.

2) Improv is fast and funny; Improvisational Theatre is being in the moment and living in honest reaction (which is sometimes funny).”

In this 1-day intensive, participants will learn and use the tools that are essential to improvisational theatre. We will focus on how to: make active positive choices, honor the physical and verbal reality of the scene, be in the moment, build colorful scenes through active listening, reaction and response, support their fellow player(s) and enjoy exploring the unknown.

~ This workshop is for anyone who has never improvised but has been curious about trying it. Or for those who already have improv training and want to strengthen and build upon the foundation they already have. ~
